FAW-Volkswagen to Launch Five New Models in the First Quarter of 2026.

[Autohome News] On January 25, FAW-Volkswagen officially announced that it will hold a spring product launch event in the first quarter, during which five models—including the Sagitar S and the all-new Talagon—will be unveiled simultaneously. In addition to strengthening its internal-combustion lineup, the company will also introduce two pure electric models and two PHEV models. FAW-Volkswagen’s Volkswagen brand emphasized that 2026 will be a major product year. Based on its “ICE, EV, and hybrid advancing in parallel with full intelligence” strategy, the brand plans to launch a total of eight all-new models, forming the most comprehensive and competitive powertrain portfolio in Volkswagen brand history.

For reference, the FAW-Volkswagen Sagitar S is expected to make its official debut by the end of January and will be offered with two powertrain options. In terms of design, the Sagitar S continues the brand’s family styling while adopting a more geometric and refined design language. The enhanced horizontal emphasis at the front, along with headlamp contours similar to those of the overseas Sagitar, gives the front fascia a wider and cleaner visual appearance.

In terms of dimensions, the all-new Sagitar S measures 4,702 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, and 1,484 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,688 mm—noticeably smaller than the Sagitar L. From the side, the car adheres to a “golden ratio” for family sedans, featuring clean character lines and smoothly contoured surfaces. The fastback profile, combined with a subtly upturned “ducktail” spoiler, preserves rear headroom while creating a dynamic and flowing rear silhouette.
At the rear, the overall design appears more refined and cohesive. The highly distinctive interactive full-width taillight assembly significantly enhances the vehicle’s sense of technology and premium appeal when illuminated, complemented by a trendy black trim package at the lower section.
In terms of power, the all-new Sagitar S offers two powertrain options. The first pairs a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 81 kW and excellent fuel efficiency. The second combines a 1.5T EVO2 engine with a 7-speed DSG transmission, producing up to 118 kW and offering stronger performance and quicker acceleration, while still maintaining outstanding fuel economy.

The all-new FAW-Volkswagen Talagon is positioned as a mid-to-large-size SUV. As a mid-cycle facelift, it receives comprehensive upgrades to its exterior, interior, and powertrain to further enhance market competitiveness. Visually, the updated model features a newly designed front fascia that brings a refreshed look. In terms of size, the vehicle measures 5,007 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width, and 1,767 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. Compared with the current model, the wheelbase remains unchanged, while the overall length has been increased.

Inside, the new model aligns with Volkswagen’s latest interior design language, featuring a driver-oriented layout. A 15-inch floating central touchscreen is paired with an 11.6-inch front passenger display for dual-screen interaction, while the steering wheel retains the brand’s familiar family design. The updated model also adopts a column-mounted gear selector, freeing up additional space beneath the center console. The vehicle remains a spacious five-seat SUV, with seating that continues Volkswagen’s signature comfort-focused style.

In terms of power, the upgraded model will be offered with more powerful 380TSI and 450TSI engines. The 450TSI variant is equipped with the fifth-generation EA888 engine, delivering a maximum output of 272 horsepower (200 kW) and peak torque of 400 N·m. The 380TSI version produces up to 157 kW, with both engines mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
